About the project

We are delivering our 12-week Micro-Pathways to Employment programme in Aberdeen, bringing together participants, speakers and organisations to help people build confidence, skills and routes into work. We are looking for three students to help tell that story.

This is not a role where we want you waiting for instructions. If you have an idea, bring it. If you spot a good story, tell it. If you see something that could be better, say so.

You do not need to be an expert in marketing. If you are already good at communicating, creating things, telling stories or talking to people, we can help you develop the rest. Your degree matters less to us than what you bring.

What you will do

  • Create content for LinkedIn and Instagram, including short videos, Reels and photos
  • Write posts about the programme, our speakers and our participants
  • Capture moments and stories from the programme as it runs
  • Collect participant feedback and testimonials, and showcase progress and impact
  • Bring your own content ideas and help build the MicroInterns community in Aberdeen

This role starts with a trial

Some startups have never run a micro-internship and will not commit to a stranger on a CV alone. So this role opens with a short trial: not a full project, just enough real work to show what you can do. It is capped, and the cap is the promise.

Trial length
4 weeks
Total hours
20 hours max
Each week
45 hours

After the first four weeks we select one student to continue for the rest of the 12-week programme on a defined project, with the scope and fee agreed before the paid work begins.

A trial can never run longer than four weeks or more than 20 hours. Past that, the work is paid.

Who it suits

A current student in or around Aberdeen who is a great communicator, proactive, creative and comfortable talking to people. Experience with LinkedIn, Instagram, Canva, photography, video or Reels is useful but not essential. Tell us about the creative things you already do — a page you run, videos you make, stories you tell. That matters more to us than a job title.
