What the project price covers
Scoping
We turn your description into a brief a student can actually deliver against: deliverable, timeline, success criteria.
Matching
Shortlisting from the student side, so there is no advertising spend, no CV pile and no interview round for you to run.
Project management, where included
On the managed plans the work happens in a workspace with a Project Manager keeping it on track, rather than in your inbox. The pricing document says which plans include one.
Student pay
Every student on the brief is paid, and that sits inside the project cost rather than arriving as a separate bill later.
Onboarding and paperwork
Agreements and payment handling are ours. You are not adding anybody to payroll.
The MicroSkill Passport record
Your sign-off on completed work becomes the student's verified record, and signing off takes one click.
What moves the number
Three things, and you will know all three before we send a figure.
- Length
- One week sits at the bottom of the range, four weeks at the top. Duration is the biggest single factor.
- Scope
- A social-media audit and a full customer-research programme are not the same brief, even at the same length.
- Skills required
- Specialist technical work is priced differently from generalist research or content work.
- How much we run
- The floor price is for a project you scope and steer yourself. The managed plans add scoping help, curated matching and a Project Manager, and they cost more because of it.

Students never pay to join MicroInterns, to apply for a project, or to keep their MicroSkill Passport record. Every project is paid work, and the pay band is on the listing before you apply.

What does a micro-internship cost?
A whole project starts at £349 and rises with how much of it you want us to run, from one you steer yourself to one we manage end to end. The plans are in the pricing document on our pricing page. A single job-board advert costs £370–£435 and buys you applications you still have to sift. The student is paid for every project, and there are no hire fees if you later take them on.
Can I hire the student afterwards?
Yes, and startups often do. A micro-internship works as a paid working interview: by the time you make an offer you have seen the person deliver. There is no conversion or placement fee.
How much of my time does this take?
About an hour to scope the project, then one short check-in each week. MicroInterns handles matching, onboarding paperwork and payment, so the work happens without you managing another employee.
Do micro-internships pay?
Yes. Every MicroInterns project is paid, and you will see the pay band on the listing before you apply. We never charge students anything, to join or to apply.
