Our founder is Scotland's Creative Young Entrepreneur 2026
JCI Scotland has named our founder, Priyanka Rao, the winner of its Creative Young Entrepreneur 2026 programme, and here is what it means for MicroInterns.

JCI Scotland has named Priyanka Rao, the founder of MicroInterns, the winner of its Creative Young Entrepreneur (CYE) 2026 programme.
The award
JCI is Junior Chamber International, a worldwide network of young active citizens. In August, JCI Scotland selected Priyanka as one of the top five finalists in the Creative Young Entrepreneur 2026 programme. She has since been named Scotland's winner.
Why it matters to students and startups
MicroInterns matches university students with 1–4 week paid, project-based micro-internships at UK startups and SMEs. Priyanka came to Aberdeen for an MBA and watched capable people get filtered out before anyone had seen their work. MicroInterns is built out of that: a CV cannot show what someone can actually do, so the unit is smaller. A real, paid project with a deadline, and a sign-off from the startup at the end of it.
Nothing about how that works changes. For the students who build a track record here, and the startups who get real work done without a hiring commitment, the award is outside recognition for the idea they already use.
